Have you been in search of proven ways to increase your vertical? If you play either basketball or volley ball then you would understand the importance as well as the huge benefits of gaining added vertical explosion. This article is based on a couple of exercises aimed at helping you get rapid results in your vertical jumping ability and in turn improve your overall volley ball and basketball performance.
If you are a shorter person participating in a competitive sporting arena then you understand better than anyone how important it is to increase your vertical jumping ability. In fact in volley ball it is a known tactic to serve to the opposition team’s shortest player where possible. I have put together two very basic exercises that will help get you started on increasing your vertical leap instantly.
Increasing your vertical exercise #1
The first exercise that I recommend for increasing your vertical is squats. The good thing about doing squats is that you are working multiple muscle groups a one time, so you are rapidly increasing your overall strength. As a rule of thumb you need to get to the point where you are able to squat your own body weight comfortably. To really increase your vertical explosion you would start to work towards lifting well above your own body weight.
Increasing your vertical exercise #2
For the second type of exercise that I recommend for increasing your vertical you need to start to focus on training your fast twitch muscles through a series of exercises known as plyometrics. Plyometrics exercises require you to do a lot of jumping, it is recommended where possible that you do these exercises in sand for added results.
That is it a very basic set of exercises to get you underway increasing your vertical straight away. These exercises are very basic as far as there process but if you are prepared to do the hard work you are guaranteed to see results. The more that you push your body with the above exercises the better and more rapid you results.
I hope my article has been of some help, increasing your vertical involves some hard work but once you start benefiting directly from that hard work and you start to dominate your chosen sport it makes it all worth it, if done consistently and correctly you should start to see results in a few short weeks.
If you were that shorter volley ball player that the opposition wanted to serve to as a tactic you would be rubbing your hands together because with the added explosion and increase in your vertical you should be able to take it right up to them!
