If you’re looking to stay fit then one of the best ways of maintaining or improving fitness is to play sports. Many of us like the idea of being fitter, not getting out of breath while climbing stairs and being a size or two smaller in the clothing department, but going to the gym or running just don’t appeal.
This is where sports come in, and the natural human competitive instinct. There are many sports for men and women that can be played in order to become fitter, but you should be careful as many of them can prove dangerous if you’re a newcomer as there are many different sporting injuries that can afflict the participants.
Rugby is one such sport that causes players more injuries than most, with dislocated joints, torn muscles and broken bones commonplace on the rugby field. Similarly football, being a contact sport, also has its share of injuries among players, with one former Manchester United youth player, Ben Collett, recently making an injury claim for £4 million after suffering a career ending leg break in a game against Middlesbrough, although it is not only professional sports players who can make an injury claim.
If you were to suffer an injury whilst playing or even watching sport, then it is possible to lodge an injury claim. Injury from the general and normal playing of a sport cannot normally be taken to an injury claim but if negligence is a factor then an injury claim is possible, for example, if the injury was due to a defect in the equipment or playing area, if instructions given were incorrect from a trainer or if conduct from other players could be deemed reckless.
