For those people who argue that a holiday like this is just self catering with a posh name, you are very wrong, because what you get here at Legend Garden Condos are the hosts Delia and Bird, and their staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble, and they are completely and brilliantly very much hands on. Anything you want to know or do, then they’ll fix it for you, and will definitely make your Barbados Holiday.

So you have this great accommodation, there is still the vexing question of catering, and here there is a wonderful solution at lunchtime. A white van appears at the gate every day excepting Sunday and you can buy a very good Barbados lunch for not much money. Turn right at the gate and there is a 24 hour garage supermarket for drinks and snack food. There is no shortage of restaurants and bars around the Mullins Beach area for meals and refreshments.

One of the great things about staying at a place like Legend Garden Condos where there are no meals is that it makes you get out and about. Staying in a resort complex, many families never leave and so they miss a great deal. It is important for childrens’ education , that they see how people live in different countries, and they get to experience the people, their culture, their food. Premier Pontoon Review

I bought my first Premier Pontoon in the spring of 2006 from Riverview Sports in Elk River, Minnesota. My main goal when searching for a new boat was to get something my family and I would enjoy for years to come. I did a lot of research on multiple pontoon manufacturers and narrowed it down to Premier Marine based on the quality of their materials, workmanship, warranty, as well as the overall nice look of the boat.

I first learned of Premier Marine after seeing that quite a few of my neighbors owned a Premier pontoon. Over the course of my initial research I asked a good number of pontoon owners what they liked or disliked about their boats.  Every single Premier owner was thrilled with their pontoon. Many commented that they liked the options and overall layout of the Premier boats as well as liking the idea of supporting a Minnesota based boat manufacturer. I did some more research and also found that Premier boats held their value well and that there is a healthy aftermarket for used Premier pontoons.

The model I decided on was the 2006 Sunsation 210RE with the rear ladder. The 210 Sunsation is considered one of Premier’s touring models, but have used it for I went with this model because I liked the two large benches up front as well as the sundeck in the back. I also liked the 18-inch lip on the front of the pontoon which makes entry onto the front of the pontoon easier from our dock as well as offers a convenient place to cast for bass, northern pike or muskie.

I have now owned the 210 Sunsation for 4 seasons and my family and I could not be happier. The vinyl upholstery on the benches, chairs and sundeck have held up very well and have not faded in the least. The Mercury 75 horsepower 4-stroke engine has run flawlessly and has only needed winterization and an oil change each year. And the handy J-clip playpen cover is not only easy to take on and off, but also has been very durable and looks brand new after a good power washing once a year.

We use our Premier for just about every activity you can think of on a Minnesota lake. We take numerous slow cruises around our lake each year. We enjoy 4th of July fireworks on board our pontoon. We pull kids behind the Premier on tubes and water skis. And my friends and I do a good deal of fishing throughout the year. I would say that our summer cabin experience would not be complete without our Premier pontoon.

How To Double Your Vertical Leap

Have you ever dreamed of running faster and jumping higher? If you are like most athletes, you know how much increased explosiveness is worth on the field or court. Especially amongst basketball and volleyball, a huge vertical jump is considered pure gold amongst athletic attributes.

The question is, how can you increase your vertical jump efficiently and effectively in the least amount of time possible? While the answer requires the understanding of a number of factors, once you understand what a vertical jump consists of you will be more capable of effectively addressing the quest for gravity defying leaping power.

So, what does it take to leave the ground behind and slam down dunk after dunk over your hapless opponents? It is really a question of three factors. The first is speed strength. Speed strength is your ability to utilize as much of your muscular force in as short a time as possible. This means that when you throw or kick or jump, your body will utilize as much of the given muscle as possible during the time you are accelerating your body.

The average contact time for a vertical jump is 200 milliseconds. This means that even if you can squat twice your bodyweight, if you cannot tap into these muscles in under half a second, you will not benefit too much! You can train speed strength by olympic lifts.

Limit strength is the second factor that determines how well you can defy gravity. A more correct term would be absolute relative strength. This is essentially your power to weight ratio. If you are small but super strong for your size you are more likely to have a monster vertical jump than a 300 lb power lifter who can squat 600 pounds. It is all about relative strength. The best way to increase relative strength in your jumping muscles are squats and dead lifts, bar none!

The third aspect that will send you flying higher than ever before is something which is known as reactive strength. Reactive strength is the ability of your muscles and tendons to store energy then release it suddenly. This is why you cock your arm back before throwing, and why people jump higher after a short run up.

The way to increase your reactive strength is through plyometrics. Plyometrics is a term used to refer to specific exercises that were developed to increase your bodys efficiency at storing and releasing energy at will.

If you can find a way to balance and increase these three aspects of strength, you will find yourself flying high faster than you ever though possible. Only through the proper application of scientific principles to training will you be able to maximize your results.

Workouts To Jump Higher – Do Squats Help You Jump Higher?

If you are serious about training effectively for basketball or other sports, workouts to jump higher are something you need to include. There are a few different ways that you can approach this goal. A good rule of thumb is to alternate days where you are working to increase your overall level of fitness and other days where you are specifically working on the height of your jumps.

You may wonder why it is important to increase your overall fitness. It is quite simple. It will not matter how high you can jump if you are unable to keep up with other players on the court. You may miss the opportunity to get your hands on the ball if you are out of breath and can’t keep up. Or, if you are competing in other sports such as volleyball or high jump, the rest of your performance may also suffer if you are not in top physical condition.

On days when you are not specifically training in jumping, try to make sure you get in a good aerobic workout. Whether this is jogging, jumping rope or using an exercise bike it does not matter. You should, however, be staying away from the elliptical machine. While they are excellent at getting your heart rate up, you may find that they are not as good for keeping your legs in shape as other fitness machines.

Lifting weights is good. Include weights that will build some muscle in your legs and make sure that you work the muscles evenly. Often, a muscle will have two or three different areas that must be targeted using different machines or movements. A good example is your quadriceps. You need to work all areas of this in order to make sure that your knees are as protected as possible. This can mean shifting your foot position on the leg press machine or performing a range of leg exercises.

On days when jumping exercises are your focus, you should still spend the first few minutes warming up. This can mean jogging a little or jumping rope for a few minutes. Then, before your legs get tired you need to move on to the jumping exercises themselves. You should exercise your knees by performing deep knee bends. Don’t force the motion and only bend as deeply as you can without feeling any discomfort. Work at being able to increase the number of deep knee bends you are doing over time. You should also be working at increasing the force of your jump. You should practice jumping from a deep knee bend as this will help you increase the height to which you can leap. Keeping track of how high you can jump will allow you to chart your progress and train more effectively.

Workouts to jump higher are most effective when they are consistent and when you constantly challenge the body. By changing the order in which you do the exercises or by swapping exercises in and out over time you will find you end up with better results. It may take time to increase your jumping power but your performance and your health will thank you for it.
